At Stockholm 1897, we set the table for both everyday moments and celebrations, with classic Swedish flavors, freshly baked goods from our bakery, and a warm welcome no matter the occasion. Here, traditions are honored with care – from herring lunches and crayfish parties to Christmas buffets, weddings, and memorial gatherings.
In the dining room, the fire crackles in the open fireplace – a natural gathering place for conversation, warmth, and long meals in good company. Everyone is welcome – we are open every day, all year round.

Våra meriterade bagare bakar med stolthet och skicklighet, alltid med rötterna djupt förankrade i svenska traditioner. Här samsas klassiker som kanelbullar,sockerkaka och surdegsbröd med inspiration från Köpenhamn och Paris, alltid med koppling till våra svenska smaker och traditioner!
We are Stockholm’s go-to fika destination – for a coffee in the sun, a chat by the fire, or a freshly baked bun after the sauna.
You can also reserve a table for a birthday fika or other celebrations – big or small.
CATERING & EVENT
We’re happy to serve a classic Swedish smörgåsbord, deliver rustic open-faced sandwiches straight from our artisan bakery, or fire up the grill for a summer dinner with Swedish flavors in the garden. Our menus are shaped by the seasons and your wishes – from herring to strawberry cake, from schnapps to freshly brewed coffee.
Want to host your celebration with us? We offer everything from relaxed mingling in our garden by the canal to a grand dinner in our beautiful dining room. We welcome groups from 30 up to 150 guests – all year round.

The Sauna in Djurgården Canal
Bastun är liten och opretentiös – byggd för samtal, skratt och kalla dopp. Den rymmer ca 10 personer åt gången, och ytterligare 15-20 får plats på bänkarna utanför eller i den lilla baren intill. Basta och bada eller gör bara sällskap med något kallt och gott i glaset. Oavsett hur du väljer att besöka oss garanterar vi en helt unik och personlig upplevelse.

Häxangruppen and Burgsvik Group now take their fourth joint step – with Stockholm 1897, a vibrant meeting place by Djurgårdsbron featuring a Swedish restaurant, artisan bakery, sauna, swimming, and boat rentals.
“We love creating places where people want to hang out. This is something entirely different from what we’ve done before, but with the same core: warmth, quality, and a place you’ll want to return to – no matter the day or season,” says the team behind the initiative.
